IF ever there was one man misused by a nation it is Sven Goran Eriksson.
The man got abuse from fans and media alike because we all insisted on believing in this myth of a 'golden generation' of world class footballers.
Last night, we saw the truth.
Croatia are a talented, skillful football team. England are not.
Wayne Rooney aside, there is not a single member of the current squad who could hope to earn a place in, for example, the Italian or Argentinian national teams.
Sven got the very best out of a limited group of players and stuck with those, like Beckham, who had limitations because we did not anyone capable of doing the few outstanding things that Becks does.
Whoever gets McLaren's job, let's face facts. We are a useless, poor, overrated football team.
We have fit, determined players whose technique and ability is no better than other players in the same positions in Macedonia and Israel, to give two examples.
Will we face up to this, or just move the deckchairs on the Titanic? |

I think you have just about got it right there mate, there are possibly a few more who could match Rooney, and give 100% plus. I think Wright Philips should be retained too, Fredinand when he is on form.
There are several in the current squad who should be dropped asap,Lampard for one, Gerrard for another, all the goal keepers, surely there is more talent in England than this lot.
